Figure 11-24 Move host from host group or to another group
If you have a stand-alone host, you can move it to any appropriate host group for clustering.
Note: Be careful if the stand-alone host already has logical drives mapped. If the host
group and the host use the same LUN number for different logical drives, you cannot add
the host into the host group. You need to change LUN number for the host and rediscover
logical drive in this host first.
Remove
Use this option to delete host or host group definitions. Host port identifiers assigned to
deleted host are moved and they are still visible in Unassociated host port identifiers window.
Rename
This option is used to rename a host or host group.
Note: Be careful if SMcli scripts are applied on your DS3500. If you rename your host and
its name is used in SMcli script, the script will no longer work. Changes of the host
mapping are used almost in every DR process.
11.9 Change Host Operating System
It is not difficult to reinstall the operating system on server hardware. If OS is changed, you do
not have to define this server as a new host. It is possible to just change the host type
(operating system), leaving the other definitions like host ports and mapped LUNs to stay
unchanged. To change the host operating system, perform the following steps:
1. Right-click the host on which operating system has to be changed in the Topology tree and
select Change Operating System. The window shown in Figure 11-25 on page 295
opens.

2. Select the required operating system and click OK. The change is accepted immediately.
11.10 Change and Remove Mapping
Until now, all described mapping configuration changes were provided in the Topology pane.
In the right Defined Mapping pane, you can see mapped logical drives. The logical drives
displayed there are mapped to the host that is selected in Topology pane. Select a logical
drive, right-click it, and two options appear:
Change Mapping
Remove Mapping
Change Mapping
Select this option to change host or host group, where the logical drive will be newly mapped,
or you can change LUN number. the change mapping window is shown in Figure 11-26.

Click OK and a warning window opens (Figure 11-27 on page 296).

Note: Even if only LUN number is changed, your host operating system can lose access to
already saved data on the mapped logical drive. Be careful if you change mapping on
running hosts.
Remove Mapping
If you remove mapping, the selected logical drive is no longer accessible by host server.
However, the data is still on the logical drive and it can be used later for other purposes.

Chapter 12.
Administration - Setup tab
In this chapter, we describe the Setup tab of the DS Storage Manager. This tab can be used
for initial configuration of a new DS3500 Storage Subsystem. The Setup tab contains links to
tasks that you can perform when setting up a storage subsystem such as setting the storage
subsystem name and password, configuring the Ethernet management ports, enabling the
premium features, configuring the iSCSI settings, configuring capacities on the storage
subsystem, and others. You can click a link to open the corresponding dialog or wizard.
We cover the following tasks:
12.2, “Locate Storage Subsystem” on page 298
12.3, “Rename Storage Subsystem” on page 299
12.4, “Set a Storage Subsystem Password” on page 299
12.5, “Configure iSCSI Host Ports” on page 300
12.6, “Configure Storage Subsystem” on page 301
12.7, “Map Logical Drives” on page 306
12.8, “Save Configuration” on page 306
12.9, “Manually Define Hosts” on page 307
12.10, “Configure Ethernet Management Ports” on page 308
12.11, “View/Enable Premium Features” on page 308
12.12, “Manage iSCSI Settings” on page 308
If you successfully provide all the base configurations that are referenced in this chapter, you
can be almost certain that your subsystem is properly configured.
We will describe all these tasks and provide you with appropriate links for more information
about a particular task as necessary.

12.1 Setup tab
Figure 12-1 shows the Setup tab in IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager.
Figure 12-1 Setup tab of DS Storage Manager
When the iSCSI daughter card is not installed in DS3500 Storage Subsystem, the two iSCSI
task links will not be displayed in the Setup tab.
We describe the links from top to bottom in the following sections.
12.2 Locate Storage Subsystem
The Locate Storage Subsystem link causes the blue LEDs of your DS3500 Storage
Subsystem and all its EXP3500 expansion enclosures to flash so you can find where your
subsystem is placed in the rack. Select OK as shown in Figure 12-2 on page 299 to stop
flashing.
