Activity 1: Presentation (asking,

answering, group work)

- T: elicit and teach vocabulary through

explaination, example.

- Ss: copy down.

- T: have Ss read in chorus 3 times then

read individually.

- Ss: practice pronunciation.

- T: ask ss to open their book page 42,

then have them look at clocks.

- Ss: read through note sentences.

- T: ask them to recall 2 ways of

speaking time.

- Ss: recall.

- T: ask ss to listen again and repeat.

- Ss: repeat after the record.

- T: have ss listen to the tape and repeat.

* Vocabulary:

- period (n): tiết

- class (n): giờ học.



* Cách đọc giờ:

a) Giờ đúng:

Ex: - It’s seven o’clock.



It’s + số giờ + o’clock.

b) Giờ hơn:

- It’s four fifteen./ It’s a quarter past

four.

- It’s eight thirty./ It’s half past eight.

It’s + số giờ + số phút.

It’s + số phút + past + số giờ.

Note:a quarter = fifteen (15 phút).

half = thirty (30 phút).

b) Giờ kém:

Ex: - It’s nine forty./ It’s twenty to ten.

- It’s one forty-five./ It’s a quarter to

two.



It’s + số giờ + số phút.

It’s + số phút kém + to + giờ kém.

partner, then call some ss give their

ideas.
